Studio Space Research

Various collaborations with Berlin Real Estate companies and Property Owners, as well as with the Berlin Federation of Visual Artists (BBK) have already let us sift through some very different available or auspicious trade spaces in Berlin, from industrial floors, through ancient style banquet halls to half-ruined, spongy churches and hospital complexes.

Nowhere, however, the conditions were that low, fair or manageable or the spaces that accurate that moving into it would have been worthwhile. Unfortunately, many of Berlin's building managers or owners of commercial real estate-it seem not to be aware that the commercial space market is shrinking steadily and the Berlin Senate subsidies come to a stop on many places. Rather they leave their rooms vacant and continue to imagine € 25 p /sqm/ month than to generously sponsor art and their producers. We would be happy today to be able to rent rooms for 4-5 €/m² instead of  4 DM/m² like before.

Of course we are motivated to continue and visit whatever is offered to us, Berlin is large and ever-changing. Some options are even open yet, but since not being squatters and always going the way with the house owner, we accordingly bring patience and eloquence with us.
